The Proud at Fmovies. Shortly after the revolution of 1821, somewhere in rebellious Greece, Liakos Bournovas wants to marry Fotini, sister of the powerful Panagiotis Notaras. Notaras, in turn, wants Liakos' sister. When Fotini is captured by the bandit Captain Arvanitis, Liakos frees her. His pride makes him refuse the reward offered by Notaras. Notaras, equally proud, sends one of his subordinates to ask for Liakos' sister's hand in marriage. She commits suicide and Liakos swears revenge. In the ensuing conflict, Notaras is wounded and, before dying, admits his love for Liakos' sister, allowing him to marry Fotini.
